Toodles began with a little brown dog named Magnolia.
When Magnolia came into our lives, we quickly discovered just how special Boykin Spaniels are. She is loving, energetic, loyal, endlessly entertaining, and always ready for her next adventure. Like so many Boykin owners, we became completely devoted to the breed and to the wonderful community surrounding it.
We also noticed that it could be surprisingly difficult to find Boykin inspired clothing and products that we genuinely wanted to own and wear. We wanted designs that celebrated these dogs with personality, warmth, humor, and a little Southern style.
So we decided to create them ourselves.
We are John and Lauren Riddick, the husband and wife team behind Toodles. Together, we create apparel, accessories, and gifts inspired by the things that bring us joy, beginning with Magnolia and our love for Boykin Spaniels.
Every Toodles design begins with an idea we would be excited to wear, display, or give to someone we love. Some designs celebrate the sporting heritage and adventurous spirit of the Boykin Spaniel. Others capture the funny, affectionate, and occasionally stubborn personality that Boykin families know so well.
Toodles is about more than putting a dog on a shirt. It is about creating something that feels familiar to the people who understand what life with a little brown dog is really like. Our hope is that each piece gives Boykin owners a way to share their pride, start a conversation, or simply smile when they recognize a little bit of their own dog in one of our designs.
Although Magnolia is where our story began, Toodles also reflects the many things our family loves. As we grow, you will see new collections inspired by Southern living, family, outdoor adventures, humor, and the interests that make life meaningful to us.
We are still a small family business, and we are building Toodles one idea, one product, and one customer at a time. Every order, message, share, and word of encouragement means more to us than you might realize.
